It's been a long time, I know! I sure hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!!! Mine was fantastic...very busy of course though. I'm feeling like I might need a vacation from my vacation!!!
So from the beginning....
It's super nice being senior in the airline industry. I was able to have the 24th - 31st off. I had to work early on the 1st but I had already been away from work so long I was ready to get back (if just for one day) then I had the 2nd through today off. Nice!!! I really actually do miss work and am anxious to get back in the swing of a regular schedule (as regular as it gets for a flight attendant!)
On Christmas Eve I traveled to Washington DC to go see my Mom and Stepdad. It was a pain in my rear end trying to get there (the storms in Denver screwed up everything) but I made it around 9:30pm on the 24th. We had a wonderful time...just relaxed mainly. We of course made it to Dave & Busters (now a tradition whenever I visit) and had a blast. Gotta love those mudslides!!!

Our Christmas tree was somewhat pathetic...it was actually the ficus that sits in the corner of the room with 1 strand of lights and plastic silver ball ornaments from the dollar store hung up with paperclips! We also stuck some fake poinsettias around the base for extra pizazz! It made us laugh every time we looked at it. I told my parents, "Hey, it's better than being stuck in some random city in a hotel room!" In all actuality we were just glad we got to spend the holiday together as a family.
The highlight of my DC trip though had to be the private tour of the Whitehouse! It was amazing! My mom, through a family member of a friend, got the hookup and on the night of the 29th we got a 2 hour tour of the Whitehouse and the Eisenhower building. It's something I won't soon forget.

I made it back home on the 31st with just enough time to unpack, do laundry and repack before leaving for my trip early on the 1st. After working my trip I flew out to see a good friend of mine in Omaha. We had a blast together...we went to see 2 great movies...A Night at the Museum and Happy Feet. We also went bowling (and I was quickly reminded how much I suck at that!) and we drove out to the
SAC Museum which was by far the best thing we got to do. I know, I'm a dork! Right in the entryway hangs an SR-71 Blackbird, the aircraft that my grandfather flew. Among the tons of displays, they also have the B-58 Hustler which he was a test pilot for as well. I highly recommend going if your ever out in the area...I believe it's about 1/2 way between Omaha and Lincoln, NE.
Well, that concludes my extremely busy holiday season. Starting tomorrow, it's back to work. Happy New Year to you all!!!
