BLIZZARD!!!

Well, you won't believe this but we just had a 'small' blizzard come through here a couple days ago! The 'won't believe' part is the fact that not 12 hours before the storm hit the temperature outside was around 63 degrees F!!! Needless to say, the storm brought more snow than this TX girl has ever seen fall at one time! I was glad I was at home before it hit...inside warm and cozy with a few beers. The winds were pretty strong...we ended up with drifts that were over 4 ft. The storm didn't stop until evening time and unfortunately I had to be at the airport the next morning at 5 am...so...lucky me...I got to spend 2 hours shoveling snow enough to be able to attempt to get my little car out of the neighborhood in the morning. Every muscle in my back and arms are still aching! Besides that though, it was wonderful. I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to snow!

First time this year!!!

So last night we are leaving Chicago and my captain is giving his briefing and uh oh...visibility is down to 1/4 mile at home...let's hope it clears by the time we get there as we can't do a CAT II approach into that airport. Luckily all went well (no diversions) and we came home to...SNOW!!! Our first real snow fall this year! We got about 3-4 inches here at the house and some parts of town recorded as much as 7 inches. Everything is white but it's melting fast...here's a few shots I managed to take in the meantime...

Approach into home...

Thought I'd throw this pic up here...I took this the other day coming home. I love looking out and seeing the mountains emerging from what appears to be a 'sea' of clouds.

And a couple more from recent days...

Texas Trip!!!

Another wonderful visit as always! My main reason for going was that one of my best friends, E, was getting married but I had some other plans for the 3 day trip as well. It was so much fun and I can't believe the weekend is over already. It's back to reality this evening...I'm starting a 2 day trip at 4 pm.

E & J looked gorgeous and so in love! I wish them both the best!

I was able to spend some time with my sissie, her fiance and my nephew for a while when I was down which is always fun. We didn't do anything too exciting, just hung out, drank screwdrivers and caught up on things. I hate being so far away from them!

The rest of the time I was there I spent with someone very special to my heart...someone who I haven't seen in quite a while...and we had a great time together! I miss Downtown Ft. Worth!!!

Off we go...into the wild blue yonder...

So even though I stayed out until 4 am this morning and I was super tired and just wanted to sleep, my wonderful friends R & C decided it would be a much better idea to wake me up and drag me out for a fun filled day of college football (Air Force vs. Navy). I love my friends. Really, it ended up being a wonderful day...great weather, good friends, a turkey leg that was bigger than my head, and football!
